Rennteam Uni Stuttgart at INSIDE »Q« Tech Days 2026

On May 20 and 21, we had the opportunity to attend the INSIDE »Q« TECH DAYS. We were invited by our sponsor AVANTEC Zerspantechnik GmbH, who has been supporting our team for the second consecutive year and provides us with cutting tools for the manufacturing of our race cars.

Throughout the event, we showcased our race car, several exhibit pieces, and our own booth. This gave visitors an insight into our work in student motorsport and led to many engaging discussions about design, manufacturing, and racing.

A particular highlight was our technical presentation on “Machining in Student Motorsport.” During the presentation, we introduced a variety of machined components used in our vehicle, ranging from conventional 3-axis milled parts produced in-house to complex 5-axis and mill-turn components, as well as tooling and mold-making applications. We also discussed challenges from our daily manufacturing work, such as machining components on our 3-axis CNC milling machine, where workholding strategies and machining concepts play a crucial role. Additionally, we shared our experiences working with less familiar materials such as titanium and copper, providing practical insights into the manufacturing processes within our team.

Beyond the technical exchange, networking was a major focus of the event. The INSIDE »Q« TECH DAYS provided an excellent opportunity to establish new contacts, strengthen existing partnerships, and connect with companies and industry professionals.
