Rennteam Uni Stuttgart beim Big Techday 2026

Tim Schüle

We are excited to be part of Big Techday 2026 this year, where we will present our project and give insights into our work as a student racing team. The event brings together students, companies, and technology enthusiasts and offers a platform for inspiring talks, innovative ideas, and discussions about current developments in technology and engineering. Our participation is made possible thanks to the support of our co-sponsor TNG Technology Consulting.

As Rennteam Uni Stuttgart e.V., we design, develop, and manufacture our own race car every year to compete in international Formula Student competitions. Each vehicle represents countless hours of engineering work, extensive testing, and the collaboration of dedicated students from a wide range of disciplines.

During our talk at Big Techday, we will provide insights into how a student motorsport project of this scale is organized and executed. A special focus will be on our autonomous system. We will showcase how we enable our race car to drive independently and give an overview of the technologies involved, including sensor systems, software development, and control engineering.

In addition, we will cover the entire development process of a race car, from the initial concept and design to simulation, manufacturing, and finally its performance on the track. We will also discuss the technical challenges we face throughout the season and how we solve them as a team.

Beyond the technical aspects, we want to highlight the importance of teamwork, project management, and interdisciplinary collaboration within our organization. Our team brings together students from various study programs at the University of Stuttgart, all working towards a common goal, building a high performance and innovative race car every year.

This talk is aimed at anyone interested in motorsport, engineering, and student projects. Especially students will have the opportunity to learn more about our work and gain behind the scenes insights into a student racing team.

We are looking forward to being part of Big Techday 2026, sharing our experiences, and connecting with you. If you would like to learn more about our team, our vehicles, and our work, feel free to join our talk.
